Tom Leucht was admitted to the Berlin bar in 2026 and is working for JBViniol ever since. His main areas of practice include copyright law and the European Union’s regulation of the digital economy. In particular, he advises clients on compliance matters relating to Free and Open Source Software as well as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the AI Act.

Already during his law studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Tom Leucht specialized in copyright and IT law. After passing his First State Examination, he completed a Master’s degree in “Comparative Studies of German, European and Chinese Law” with a focus on IP law. He then worked as a university research assistant for Prof. Dr. Katharina de la Durantaye for several years. During this time he continued to focus on copyright law.

Early on, Tom Leucht gained practical experience at several international law firms. During his legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal (Kammergericht), he underwent training at the Federal Ministry of Justice (Division for Copyright and Publishing Law) and at a Berlin boutique law firm specializing in copyright and IT law.
