Till Jaeger is a founding partner of the law firm JBViniol and was previously a partner at the law firm JBB Rechtsanwälte for a period of 25 years. Since beginning his legal career, he has focused on legal issues relating to free and open source software and other free licensing models, such as Creative Commons and open data.

He founded the Institute for Legal Issues of Free and Open Source Software (ifrOSS) with Prof. Axel Metzger, and also provides academic support on the topic FOSS through publications, lectures and as a lecturer.
Till Jaeger is a partner in the OpenChain project and provides clients with comprehensive support in all aspects of open source licence compliance. This includes providing advisory services on the introduction of a compliance system and the design of an open source policy. It also involves scanning and curating open source components, as well as in-house training and audits. He has many years of experience in the judicial enforcement and defence of licence infringements.

In addition to specialising in copyright law, including photography rights, Till Jaeger also offers expertise in the implementation of requirements under key pieces of legislation such as the Cyber Resilience Act, the Data Act and the AI Act.

Till Jaeger has been ‘frequently recommended’ in the JUVE Handbook for more than 10 years in the field of open source software. Clients have commented on his ‘impressive technical knowledge’.
