Julian Höppner has been practising as a lawyer since 2005 and is a founding partner of JBViniol. Prior to that, he was a partner at the law firm JBB Rechtsanwälte for 14 years.

A key focus of Julian Höppner’s practice lies in the drafting and negotiation of complex IT agreements, as well as advising German and international companies and public-sector clients on the distribution, sale and procurement of software. His work places particular emphasis on the evolving regulatory framework of the EU’s Digital Strategy (including the AI Act, Data Act, DSA, NIS-2 and others).

Another central pillar of his practice is advising clients on all aspects of handling personal data — whether in relation to ongoing projects (such as the implementation of new technology systems and strategies), product-related matters (e.g., apps) or communications with users and supervisory authorities.

In addition, Julian Höppner advises on the broad areas of digital content monetisation and e- and mobile commerce. He supports clients in drafting and negotiating marketing agreements as well as designing ordering processes and general terms and conditions.

Julian Höppner is listed as a “frequently recommended” lawyer for IT law and data protection in the industry ranking published by JUVE for Germany.
