Bernd Weichhaus has been practicing as a lawyer since 2004. After working for three years at the Berlin office of Preu Bohlig & Partner, he worked at the IP boutique Lubberger Lehment and at JBB. He has been part of the JBViniol team since 2026.

He advises on the establishment and defense of selective distribution systems. He has relevant industry experience in both the luxury sector (jewelry and bags, depot cosmetics) and in the field of high-quality designer furniture and in other product categories requiring intensive consultation such as sports equipment. His contractual advice focuses on ensuring the quality of the distribution of branded goods, taking into account the creative use of omni-channel concepts. In addition, he conducts antitrust compliance training courses for both companies and associations. Another focus of his work is advising clients in the run-up to advertising campaigns and on the requirements of health related advertising and cosmetics law. Finally, Bernd Weichhaus regularly handles disputes relating to trademark, copyright and competition law issues.

He studied law (Marburg, Freiburg, Geneva and London (LLM)), specializing in intellectual property and antitrust law. His doctoral thesis in copyright law from 2002 deals with rules governing copyright collecting societies.

Before becoming a lawyer, he completed a six-month stage at the Directorate-General for Competition at the European Commission.
